Meridian Gymnasium
A supplementary education school and speech therapy centre for bilingual children: Russian language and literature, school subjects, creative studios, clubs, celebrations and a rich cultural life.
The Russian-language Gymnasium Meridian was founded in 2014 by Tatiana D. Dzhayani, a Slavic philologist from the University of Vienna, a specialist in child bilingualism and a mother of three.
The school was born from one simple but very important idea: children growing up away from a Russian-speaking environment should not lose their native language, roots and connection with family.
What began as a small school has grown, thanks to dedicated teachers and like-minded parents, into one of Austria’s largest Russian-language educational centres.
Over more than 12 years, we have taught over 2,000 children. Today the gymnasium brings together three Vienna locations and a large team of experienced, caring teachers who help every child discover their potential.
We believe that a native language is the foundation of harmonious development. It helps children stay connected to family and culture, builds confidence and creates a strong base for learning the language of the country of residence and other foreign languages.
Modern educational programs, creative projects, olympiads, the speech therapy centre and a warm atmosphere make learning engaging, effective and truly inspiring.
For us, the native language is not just a subject. It is a feeling of home, confidence and the ability to build the future in a multilingual world.
